When starting or growing a business, it is important to know that there are numerous business models and ideas that you can explore.
Don’t feel compelled to go with a traditional business model or to decide too quickly which idea to go with. You can test a range of viable alternatives and choose which one is right for your business – flirt a little!

We recently worked with a catering business that is seeking to expand internationally. The owner was not too sure about the business model that would help to achieve their goals.
After a diagnostic strategy session and several possible options, they were fired up and ready to pursue a franchise business model that would give the flexibility to expand internationally and add some new product offerings.
So when you are looking at ideas and business models:
- Image alternative futures – be open to exploring what is possible
- Be flexible – even if your first option turns out to be wrong, you can change direction later on
The important thing to remember is that what might seem like the craziest or most ridiculous business ideas can turn out to be a success.
Just look a Doggles for example – yes, goggles for dogs! Who knew that what seems like a crazy idea would catch on and lead to a successful, multi million-dollar business?
