It is a balmy Tuesday evening and Bridgetown Toastmasters Club is hosting its 50th anniversary reunion meeting.
It’s a wonderful opportunity for current Toastmasters to meet those who were members of the Club over the past 50 decades, including one of the original members (who must have been very young at the time).
It is an honoured to be in the presence of such august men and women, learning about what the Club has achieved, not only for the individuals, but also for their businesses, their communities and their families.
The granddaughter of the founder was there to represent him and spoke passionately about his devotion to the Club and the Toastmasters ethos.
I wonder if he would ever have dreamt that his vision would have had made such a difference?
As we are reminded by our President that the anniversary theme is “Inspiring Passion, Igniting Purpose, Changing Lives”, it is incontestable that Bridgetown Toastmasters has , is and will continue to do so for many decades to come.
